TimbyrNode - National Annex and office defaults
===============================================================

TimbyrNode ships with the Eurocode 5 recommended base values (for
example gamma_M 1.30 for solid timber, 1.25 for glulam, k_cr
0.67). If your National Annex requires different values, save
your own starting values once; every launch then begins with them.

IMPORTANT: the values are your engineering decision under the
National Annex that applies to your project. TimbyrNode does not
pick a country for you.

---------------------------------------------------------------
 Set your defaults
---------------------------------------------------------------

  1. Start TimbyrNode and set the calculation settings to the
     values your National Annex requires.
  2. Click the "National Annex" button.
  3. Click "Save current settings as my defaults".

This writes "TimbyrNode_user_default_settings.json" next to
TimbyrNode.exe. Every launch now starts from those values.

Also in that window:

  - "Reset session to TimbyrNode factory defaults": puts the
CURRENT session back to the built-in values. Your saved file
    is kept.
  - "Delete my defaults file": removes the file; the next launch
starts from the built-in values again.

---------------------------------------------------------------
 What it covers
---------------------------------------------------------------

  - Partial safety factors: solid timber, glulam, panel, and the
    steel factor gamma_M2.
  - The crack factor k_cr and the splitting / plug-shear options.
  - Hole-oversize tolerances and the a3 end-distance adjustment.
  - The rope-effect and block-shear options.
  - Defaults for fire-resistance class, fastener type and grade,
timber class, service class, and load-duration class.

These are STARTING values only: a saved connection opens with its
own stored settings, and anything you change during a session
always wins.

---------------------------------------------------------------
One file for the whole office
---------------------------------------------------------------

Copy "TimbyrNode_user_default_settings.json" into the TimbyrNode
folder on every machine (next to its TimbyrNode.exe). Every
machine then starts from the same values. The file is plain text
with a short comment on each line, so you or your IT can review
it in Notepad.

---------------------------------------------------------------
 Built to be safe
---------------------------------------------------------------

  - A single out-of-range or wrong-type value is ignored; the
rest of the file still applies.
  - A damaged file is renamed to ".bak" and the built-in values
    are used.
  - A bad file can therefore never apply a wrong safety factor.

If TimbyrNode runs from a read-only folder, an existing defaults
file still loads; only saving a new one needs write access.
